Person-Centered Primary Care Measure Survey
The Hint Health Data Analytics team is helping DPC practices to assess meaningful metrics of care by administering the Person-Centered Primary Care Measure (PCPCM) across a sample of DPC patients.

What is the PCPCM?

What is the PCPCM?
The Person-Centered Primary Care Measure (PCPCM) was designed in 2016 by research Drs. Etz and Stange and their team at the Larry Green Center after surveying patients, primary care physicians, employers and experts across the healthcare industry. It is currently the only measure of the 4Cs of primary care (first contact, comprehensiveness, coordination and continuity) from the perspective of patients and is now a nationally recognized clinical quality measure through CMS.
Hint's study aims to explore the feasibility of using the PCPCM as a quality indicator for the DPC industry.
Why Should I Participate?
There is strong interest from DPC practices in assessing a quality metric for DPC to understand how their practice compares to other DPCs and the primary care industry as a whole.
By participating in Hint's PCPCM Survey, you can be part of the development of an industry standard for evaluating the patient experience with primary care as well as gain valuable insight in to your patients' satisfaction with the care they receive from your practice.
How are results presented?
Hint will provide participating practices with a summary of calculated results for your practice as well as DPC overall to serve as a comparison.
Details on the PCPCM measure and methodology used by Hint can be found here and the official CMS guidance here.
Preliminary results of our pilot survey were shared at Hint Summit 2024 and our ultimate goal is to publish findings on how the patient experience among DPC patients compares to traditional, fee-for-service primary care patients.
