Benchmark and Improve Patient Experience
Direct Primary Care is redefining how physicians deliver relationship-based care — but proving its impact requires data.
This report benchmarks the DPC patient experience using validated, patient-reported measures across the 4Cs of primary care, giving practices a clear, practical way to assess performance and improve patient experience over time.
What's in the report?
What is the PCPCM?
The Person-Centered Primary Care Measure (PCPCM) was designed in 2016 by research Drs. Etz and Stange and their team at the Larry Green Center after surveying patients, primary care physicians, employers and experts across the healthcare industry. It is currently the only measure of the 4Cs of primary care (first contact, comprehensiveness, coordination and continuity) from the perspective of patients and is now a nationally recognized clinical quality measure through CMS.
Why DPC?
For the physician-entrepreneur, Direct Primary Care (DPC) represents a shift toward professional autonomy. By removing insurance-based barriers and administrative overhead, the model allows clinicians to re-focus on the physician-patient relationship
DPC makes it easier for employees to access primary care on a regular basis, thereby increasing utilization, which results in less visits to expensive sites of care such as specialists, urgent care, emergency departments, and inpatient hospitals.
Preventative care and any health issues can be addressed early on at the office of a DPC clinician, often at no additional charge.
